For a while here I was using my own blogging-comment engine but it was always a pain to either be moderating it, letting the spammers run rife, or subjecting comment-makers to answering annoying captchas. So, I pushed it all aside and found that Facebook now have a very handy little Javascript plugin that lets you put comments in via the world of Facebook itself.

The downsides? It takes longer to load and can't be colour matched as easy. If facebook changes its mind about how it works, I'm then left scrambling to update it... facebook could go "off line" (less likely than I am though! :).

Upsides... everyone is used to the input interface, I don't have to worry about security as much, no one has to pre-authenticate.

Overall, it's a win for me.
